WHY HIRE FOREIGN WORKERS

HOW CAN YOU HIRE FOREIGN WORKERS?

The employer must first apply for a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) and get it approved.
The employer must have the chosen foreign employee apply for a work permit
In certain cases, an LMIA is not mandatory, the employer must submit an offer of employment and pay a “employer compliance fee” through the Employer Portal. Then the employer must provide the employment number to the foreign worker they want to hire in order to proceed with the work permit application.
The chosen foreign worker must be informed by the employer that he/she will receive an introduction letter after their work permit application has been approved.
Once the worker arrives in Canada, the actual work permit will be issued by the Border Services Officer at the port of entry.
